backward collective is a recording group formed by longtime collaborators, jason presley and adam headrick, and their ongoing work with a collection of friends, bandmates and fellow musicians.
after releasing a 19 track collection of tracks in 2006, the collective embarked on their current project, “bedlam and then some”. “bedlam” is a twenty track concept album based loosely on a wide array of interpretations of the storied ‘bedlam rivalry’ between the two major universities in the state of oklahoma.
“bedlam” is a dense and eclectic collection of music inspired by madness, funk, new york city, oklahoma blues, haunted houses,experimental computer recording techniques, satire and mood swings. before the album was released, the collective had already licensed one of its songs for use in two films. this brings to light the point that backward collective was formed on the premise of providing music to aid, abet & accompany creativity. “bedlam and then some” is no exception.
